Danielle was knowledgeable, personable and caring LC -- my son was 3 weeks old when I reached out to Danielle who was referred by my pediatrician (Riverside Medical). I was having trouble with him nursing, specifically latching (he was a barracuda baby and had a minor stint with jaundice before so was supplemented by bottle). I also had concerns whether my milk supply was low. Danielle gave me very good 1 on 1 insight into different holds, latching techniques but best of all she gave me confidence, without any pressure, to decide to continue breastfeeding or to adopt alternate options. She weighed my son before and after the feed to give me assurance he was eating well, and gave me tips on how to handle the pain (yes still had sore nipples) . I really appreciated she brought with her actual products that I could use to manage breastfeeding (e.g nipple gel pads). Previously, I had met with another LC during my hospital stay, but having this tailored advice was much productive. Best of all, I still continue to speak to Danielle for tips or just encouragement -- would recommend her to others moms!

I took a class that Danielle gave through Riverside and promptly contacted her as soon as my daughter was born. The class was VERY informative and I left feeling super confident and 'ready' for my breastfeeding experience. The reason I contacted her was because the baby had initial latching problems. Danielle came to my house answered all my questions via text promptly and came over the next day for an at-home visit since I needed the reassurance. She stayed with us for a couple of hours and made me feel so comfortable. She gave me helpful expert tips on feeding my daughter and also overall newborn care. She is the best and I recommended her to two other new moms as well!

Danielle helped me so much trouble shoot latching problems with my SGA (small for gestational age) baby. I couldn't have gotten through those difficult days without her help, encouragement and support! She was also a great help when my little one started refusing bottles right before my return to work. Danielle is the BEST!

Danielle sets the bar very high when it comes to being a great Mother and a dedicated advocate for breastfeeding.

If you have taken the time to learn how to drive take the time to learn how to properly breastfeed your child.

It's one of the best things you can do for your baby and Danielle is one of the best people to learn it from.

Dedicated and compassionate in her love of labor and delivery and now onto her extended passion---lactation consultation for all those new and renewed mommies out there. One visit with Danielle and you will feel her true passion...helping others with nursing their prized possessions...those babies. Feel the love

She just has a special way of making you feel completely at ease with the calm knowledge that you can nurse the baby and be comfortable doing it. Like a very knowledgable mama friend.

My Training

My Story

My Philosophy

My philosophy is:

Go with it, wherever it leads you, whatever it is.

Let it lead you, let it find you. Believe in yourself, believe in your body, believe in your baby and most of all go with your gut. Enjoy the precious firsts, relax! Take your TIME. Mothering and feeding and nurturing may all be "natural", but they also don't come "easy". Don't be so hard on yourself.

And when you need a hand, ASK for one! It's that simple. There is always help, a phone call away.

Don't be afraid to ask for it.

We should not expect perfection, but it doesn't hurt to strive for it and fight for what we desire!

After graduating Nursing School, 8 months pregnant with my first daughter, I delivered her shortly after passing my nursing boards and tried to breastfeed her exclusively. Key word: tried. I lacked the support and knowledge I thought I had with my education/background. It didn't quite work out the way I planned (as life often has a way of going!). I still believed in the same things I went into motherhood believing, but I didn't seek the help I should have and ended up ending my breastfeeding journey after a few months. I have no regrets: she is still perfect! :)

My husband and I were finally blessed with our second daughter 9+ years later, and I vowed to arm myself with more knowledge than ever before. I set my goal to 6 months of breastfeeding, and kept going from there. It was a difficult journey in the beginning and I used all my resources around me that I had available; including a WONDERFUL Lactation Consultant referred by my pediatrician. We struggled through pain, latch issues, and even a dairy allergy which led to me being dairy (among other things) free for 1 year for her.

I never could have had such success without the support I received!

After several years of working on Labor & Delivery, I decided to follow the path I found  SO interesting

(becoming a Lactation Consultant), all the new things I learned, and still find it interesting as I learn new things everyday! I remember the support I had gotten with my 2nd daughter through all our struggles, and wanted to be that person for other Moms who are in need of support. I am still new to this journey but I am enjoying every step.

As well as making home visits to new Moms/Babies, I also teach breastfeeding education on my other "days off" from my full time hospital job. These classes (along with prenatal birthing classes) are provided FREE of charge and food is provided as well, by Riverside Medical Group.

Visit their website for more information on these FREE for you educational opportunities!
